Equine Physiotherapy

Kyla's equine Physiotherapy service provides a holistic approach to addressing and preventing musculoskeletal injuries in horses. Kyla will provide a full assessment on our first visit. Kyla's first visit will include a full history of your horse, static, dynamic, joint and palpation assessment. Kyla will then provide treatment for the remainder of your session and devise a unique plan for you and your horse.

Veterinary Physiotherapy treatment can be beneficial to all horses.  Kyla can help with any of the following conditions:

  • Soft tissue injuries to tendons, ligaments and muscles

  • Poor/ inconsistent performance issues

  • Back pain which may be related/unrelated to lameness

  • SI joint related issues

  • Wounds and scar tissue

  • Capped hocks, swelling and splints

Prevention

Having a veterinary physiotherapist for your horse will help aim to identify any underlying  musculoskeletal conditions early. With continual assessments, Kyla can form a comprehensive plan for you and your horse to help avoid injury and musculoskeletal conditions occurring. Kyla can also provide owners with exercises in a Prehabilitation program to support you and your horse.

Performance

For sport horses it is essential to be in peak physical condition to result in optimum performance. By identifying and treating muscular tension, improving joint range of motion, improving strength and stride length, Kyla can help ensure your horse exceeds its natural ability and help you and your horse perform at a higher level. Working as a collaborative team Kyla can work through your season with you and your horse to reach your aims, goals and provide you with maximum success.

Recovery

Following injury or post surgery, Kyla can aid recovery through pain management, restore form and function and devise a plan to return your horse to its best. Kyla will work closely with your vet, farrier and other professionals to ensure that every angle of your horses recovery is covered.
